Batman Wall Mural

I painted this Batman Wall Mural in Hamilton for my client, Monika, and it was one of my most creative and well thought out projects so far.  It was a great collaboration, combining her artistic vision with my experience and skill.

Keep scrolling to read about all the must-have details Monika wanted in her son’s Batman bedroom that I incorporated into this design…and see if we’re a right fit to work together on your project!

Turning the Batman wall mural into a headboard

A batman wall mural, painted by Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca, features Batman and Spiderman on a bridge.

I offer a free consultation with my clients to get an idea of what they’d like in their painted mural.  Monika mentioned she might buy a headboard for Cross’ bed.  I’ve been painting murals since 2005 and have enough experience painting around furniture to know that it wouldn’t leave enough room for the batman wall mural to really shine.

I suggested painting a bridge for Batman and Spiderman to stand on, that would act as a headboard.

A chalkboard-skyscraper-entrance to the Batcave

Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca painted a closet door into a skyscraper with the words, "Welcome to the batcave"

I pride myself on incorporating my client’s ideas into a great design.

Monika asked about making a sign to hang over Cross’ closet door saying, “Welcome to the Batcave” and separately, she wanted an area painted with chalk paint so he could get creative.

The headboard bridge that I designed really felt like Gotham City, and I wanted to continue the cityscape feel, so I suggested turning his entire door into a skyscraper with lit up windows and adding the customized saying Monika wanted.

Once I painted the door, I added a clear chalkboard paint over the entire door, so now Cross has a corner to get really creative in his bedroom.

Customized with a growth chart

This skyscraper growth chart, complete with bat signal, was painted by Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca

One of the benefits of having a mural hand-painted is that it can be customized for your family.

I continued painting the Gotham City skyscrapers around the room and turned this building into a growth chart, so Monika and Anthony could measure Cross’ growth.  She even requested the bat signal on top of the tower – genious!

I only use non-toxic paints so they can breathe easy

As a mama myself, I know it’s important to many parents to create an eco-friendly space for their kids.  That’s why I only use non-toxic acrylic paint and no VOC latex paint that won’t affect your kids’ air quality.

My murals will become a part of your family

I get emails all the time from clients telling me their kids say goodnight to their mural, they pet it to say hello or it’s included in their imaginative play.  It’s one of the reasons I do what I do.

And another reason (and this is purely selfish) is that I like my daughter to see her mama running a business doing something she loves.  Every once in a while, I bring Audrey with me for the final photo shoot and I really get to see how my murals inspire kids’ imaginations.

Mix and match your kids fave characters!

Mural artist Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca hand-painted Spiderman in a mural.

Cross’ fave superhero is Batman, so we designed a batman themed room.  BUT his second favourite hero is Spiderman.  Why not throw another character in the mural?  That’s one of the advantages of having a customized mural painted!
