How to Order Dementia Door Decals
- Measure the width and height of your flat door, while the door is open. If there are kick plates that are not removable, only measure to the top of the kickplate. If they are removable or you’re replacing with new, measure to the very bottom of your door.

Are Dementia Door Disguise Made of Vinyl?
No, our wallpaper is a non-woven product that is as durable as vinyl but free of toxic chemicals that vinyl contains.
Peel and stick, vinyl and PVC wallcovering can spew toxic VOCs and other harmful chemicals that can cause health and neurological issues. When removed, it sits in landfills for hundreds of years without degrading. When it finally does, it leaches into the earth and contaminates our water.
Our wallpaper is made from renewable wood pulp mixed with polyester fibres and is printed with UV Gel Ink. This combination makes our wallpaper scuff proof, scratch resistant, washable and easy to hang. It’s eco-friendly, recyclable and non-toxic.
Can You Order Door Murals in Different Sizes?
Simply add your door width and height above, and we’ll send it to you in one panel, pre-cut to fit your flat door. We can print door wall murals up to 48″W x 84″H. If you have larger doors, please contact adrienne@aboutmurals.ca.
Do You Sell Removable Wallpaper for Doors?
Yes, all of our murals are printed on removable door wallpaper. It’s permanent and lasts for years, but when you’re ready for a change, simply lift and peel the door wallpaper mural off using an exacto knife. It won’t damage the door.
Can You Put Door Wraps on Paneled Doors?
No, our door wallpaper is only suitable for flat doors.
Can You Put Door Wallpaper on Pocket Doors or Elevator Doors?
Yes, as long as the two doors don’t rub against each other, you can put our door murals on pocket or elevator doors in your nursing home.

How to Hang Dementia Friendly Door Wraps
- Remove the door knob, room numbers, kick plates and/or fire tags from your door.
- Clean your door to remove any food, debris, old tape or dust.
- Roll one coat of Roman Pro 999 Wallpaper Primer onto your flat door and allow it to dry for one hour.
- Wet the back of your prepasted wallpaper (by dunking in water or spraying the back) and apply it to your door. It arrives in one panel, pre-cut to fit your door perfectly!
- Smooth air bubbles with a sponge smoother.
- Trim the excess from the doorknob hole using an exacto knife.
- Use the tips from our How to Hang Tutorial if needed.
- Reinstall the door hardware 24 hours after the wallpaper is applied, when it is dry. If you need to reinstall hardware immediately, please do so gently while the wallpaper is still wet.
Please note the wallpaper doesn’t stick to kick plates at the bottom of the door. We recommend:
- Install above your kick plate and trim away the excess, or
- Remove the kick plate, install wallpaper on the wall and re-install the kick plate over top.

Return Policy
You deserve to love your wallpaper! If (for any reason) you don’t, return your wallpaper mural for a full 100% refund within 30 days of receiving your package. The wallpaper must be in its original container, unused and in saleable condition.
You won’t pay any restocking fees when you shop from us! Just cover the return shipping fees.
