Backyard Mural in the Hamilton Mountain News
Reporter, Julie Slack, tells the tale of my sister and I painting a backyard mural in our aunt’s garden on a cinderblock garage. We spend several weekends creating the masterpiece which includes their beloved dogs Benny and Bella among flowers.

The mural had to include sunflowers because, as children, we grew the tall flowers with our aunts only to cut one down and walk it from the east end of the city to the west end for a family “who can grow the tallest sunflower” competition.

Our aunts were so pleased with the backyard mural, they called the Hamilton Mountain News to feature it in their newspaper. Once the article was released, I received numerous calls requesting hand-painted murals in homes in the local area. About Murals was born from this fun project surrounded by my family.
