“The wonderful mural in the back wall I want to talk about is by a company called About Murals and they do fantastic work.  Now we’ve used brick murals before and we’ve used wood murals before, and they’ve all been really good, but there’s something about the textural relief – or the perceived textural relief – of About Murals that seems to be that next level gorgeous,” says celebrity designer, Justin Ryan.

“And the good thing about murals is that you can actually peel them off when you’re finished, so you’re not married to them like wallpaper,” adds Colin McAllister. (1:02)

No Repeat Pattern Makes it Realistic Looking

Here’s the brick wallpaper on Cityline that Colin and Justin used without any furniture in front of it.

Your eye doesn’t see the same pattern happening over and over like with some wallpaper.  That’s called a repeat pattern and these brick wallpapers don’t have it.

Why?

Because it’s actually a wallpaper MURAL.  A photographer takes a high resolution photo of an actual wall – making a design that looks totally realistic.

High Resolution Creates Texture

Did you hear Colin and Justin talking about the “textural relief” of the brick wallpaper.

Wanna know why it’s so crystal clear?

The photographer takes 72 small, individual photos of each section of the brick wall and then stitches them together in Photoshop.  This creates a super high resolution image that’s perfect for large scale printing.

They Customized the Wallpaper With a Graphic

They add a whisky label image over the brick wallpaper, turning it into a custom wallpaper.

The label is hidden behind the tapestry on the Cityline segment, but they use the whisky label for another project they were working on, as well.

Wallpaper Samples Available

Since TV works fast, the boys don’t have time to wait for a wallpaper sample to arrive, so they approve it from their computer screens (from the image above).

But you can buy a wallpaper sample from any standard in-stock mural, like this brick design, right from the shop.

If you order a custom wallpaper, samples are also available.

Easy to Hang Wallpaper

We always hang wallpaper for Colin and Justin when we work together, including this brick wallpaper on Cityline, but these wallpaper murals are so easy to hang, most of our customers do it themselves.  Watch the How To Hang Video Tutorial to help you along.

If you need help while you tackle the rest of your renovation, we offer installation services in the greater Hamilton / Toronto areas of Ontario.  If you’re elsewhere, check out the Wallcovering Installers Association for someone in your area.

It’s Removable Wallpaper

An old brick wallpaper, as seen on set at Cityline with celebrity designers Colin & Justin. Removable wallpaper sold by AboutMurals.ca.

The Cityline designers put so much work into these sets (and they always look fab), but the walls get dismantled as quickly as they’re created.

That’s why our wallpaper murals work so well for TV (and your home, too) – they’re totally removable.  So the next designers can come in, pull the panels off the wall and start fresh.
