Jacob’s parents hired me to paint this Superhero Mural on his Toronto-area bedroom wall to help their toddler transition into his big boy room.  The Marvel characters in this superhero room are totally.  Freaking.  COOL!  Scroll down to see all the unique ways I customized this kids mural and how it even got personalized just for Jacob.

If you’d like to have a superhero wall mural painted in one of your kids rooms, book a consultation!  I work in the greater Hamilton / Toronto areas of Ontario.

Superior Craftsmanship in Every Brushstroke

When you hire a muralist to paint a mural, you want it to be the highest calibre so your kids (and you) can enjoy it for years.  You don’t want to see streaky paint, unfinished lines, drips and you definitely DO want the characters to look exactly like the real thing.

I’ve always been a highly detailed mural artist.  I’m not one to just stroll into a room and start painting.  I only work from a cohesive design that I implement from our consultation, and I don’t stop painting until it “feels” finished – even if that takes a little longer than originally planned.

I’m such a perfectionist that when some clients see my painted murals, they think they’re decals or wallpaper.  But I promise…every square inch of this superhero mural is painted, including Captain America and Batman in the above photos.

A Consultation Prevents Design Blunders

A bed in a superhero room

Most of the children’s murals I create are painted behind their bed, but the average headboard is only 14″-29″ from the mattress, leaving lots of wall to paint on.  Jacob’s headboard is extra tall so if we hadn’t booked a consultation, part of his mural would have been hidden behind the bed.

Instead, Lauren had me paint the superhero mural across from his bed.  It’s so much MORE exciting (and even safe-feeling) to sleep in your big boy bed when you can stare at your favourite superheroes! :)

Here’s how my consultation works:

  1. Contact Me â€“ Fill out the form and I’ll be in touch to book a date and time for your consultation.
  2. Share Your Vision â€“ Before the consultation, it’s helpful if you share inspiring photos of other murals you love.  Email them or add me to your Pinterest Board so I can get a feel for what you’re dreaming about.
  3. Let’s Chat â€“ When we have your consultation, we’ll chat:
    1. Superhero characters to include – or villains if your kids are a bit feisty :)
    2. Styles – I’m talking vintage, traditional, modern, simple, monochrome, rustic?  There are soooo many!
    3. Size and placement – just an accent wall, the whole room, onto a slanted ceiling?  What kind of furniture do I have to paint around?  Since this is a custom superhero room mural, the possibilities are endless.
  4. Get Your Quote â€“ Once I fully understand what you want to create for your kids, I can put a quote together for you.

Personalize Your Child’s Superhero Mural

One of the first words your toddler will ever spell is his own name and kids love pointing it out.  One great reason to choose a hand-painted mural is the ability to personalize it in a way that’s consistent with the mural and the rest of the bedroom design.

In this superhero mural, I painted Jacob’s name on the side of a cityscape skyscraper.

Customize Architectural Features like Slanted Ceilings

If you have a room with a bulkhead, slanted ceilings or rounded walls, they can be hard to decorate.  We can talk about these tricky spaces during your consultation, and I’ll incorporate them into your design so they look insanely cool – instead of trying to disguise them.

In Jacob’s room, I painted Spiderman hanging off a slanted ceiling.  Pow!  Boom!

Your Kids Will Breathe Easy – I Only Use Non-Toxic Paint

As a mama myself, I know it’s important for you to safeguard your kids’ environments by using “green” products.  I only use non-toxic acrylic paint and no VOC latex paint, so their air quality won’t be affected.  It’s all water-based, but super durable, with low or no odour.

Your kids can even sleep in their bedroom the night I finish painting.

I Exclusively Work With One Client Per Week

Have you ever worked with a contractor who “fits you in” between other clients?  They sometimes show up (but sometimes not for days) and the renovation drags on for so much longer than you expected?

I have…and that’s why I only work with one client per week.  This allows me to work on your mural consistently so it’s done quicker than a flash.  It also gives me latitude with my time in case you decide to change the design as I go.

Painted With Your Child’s Size in Mind

It melts my heart to hear that kids say goodnight to their mural, pet it or sit next to it.  It’s like the characters in my murals become friends in their imaginative play, so kids love it when they can reach out and touch the superheroes.

In Jacob’s room, I painted Thor at floor level, next to his bookshelf so he has a friend to read with.

My Packages are All-Inclusive

When you hire a professional, you assume the price quoted is what you’ll pay.  Very often, though, some contractors present you with a higher than expected bill at the end of your project.

You don’t have to worry about that issue when you hire me because my quotes include everything from the initial consultation to the design ideas, sketch, my time and skills from 14+ years as a muralist, tools, paint, equipment and mileage.  Unless you drastically change the design as I’m painting, you’ll never pay more than you were originally quoted.

Painting Kids Murals Since 2005

When you choose to hire me for your project, you know you’re working with a true professional.  I’ve been painting murals since 2005 exclusively for kids.  I typically paint in a bedroom, playroom or baby nursery but you’ll also find my work in small businesses that cater to kids like indoor playgrounds, sports facilities and daycares.

Trusted by Celebrity Designers and TV Personalities

Mike Holmes and Adrienne Scanlan of AboutMurals.ca

I’m the go-to-mural-girl for celebrity designers and TV personalities, for both my hand-painted murals and the wallpaper murals I sell on my website.  I’ve worked with celebs like Mike Holmes, Colin and Justin, Brian Gluckstein, Tracy Moore, Christian Dare and Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault.

Why?

I like to think it’s because I’m a total perfectionist…down to every last detail.  My clients like that too.  They know I’ll show up when I say I will, they’ll get exactly what they pictured in their mind and the quality is top notch.  I guess I’m sort of a muralist superhero!
