I painted this incredible Batman wall mural in Cross’ Hamilton, Ontario bedroom.  It definitely added some Pow! to his big boy room (this was his birthday gift) and now he’s brave enough to sleep in his bed all night!  Watch my video tour of this superhero room and read about all the insanely cool details Monika wanted in her son’s Batman bedroom that I combined into the design during her consultation.

If you’d like me to paint a superhero mural for your kids, Book a Consultation!  I work in the greater Hamilton / Toronto areas of Ontario.

Watch this video tour of the ultimate superhero room where I reveal my design and take you on a journey to see the Gotham City bridge headboard, Batcave closet door and skyscraper growth chart.  See how modern the Batman wall mural looks with the black and yellow colour scheme.

A Custom Headboard Designed During The Consultation

A batman wall mural, painted by Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca, features Batman and Spiderman on a bridge.

During Monika’s consultation, she shared her desire to purchase a headboard for her son’s bed but was concerned it wouldn’t leave enough room to add the unique mural she craved.  I suggested I paint a custom Gotham City Bridge over his bed, creating the illusion of a headboard while still allowing space for an eye-catching design.

The only way I knew to design this awesome feature in his Batman wall mural was because she booked a consultation with me.

Here’s how my consultation works:

  1. Contact Me â€“ Fill out the form and I’ll be in touch to book a date and time for your consultation.
  2. Share Your Vision â€“ Before the consultation, it’s helpful if you share inspiring photos of other murals you love.  Email them or add me to your Pinterest Board so I can get a feel for what you’re dreaming about.
  3. Let’s Meet â€“ When we connect, we’ll chat:
    1. Superhero characters to include – or villains if your kids are a bit feisty :)
    2. Styles – I’m talking vintage, traditional, modern, simple, monochrome, rustic?  There are soooo many!
    3. Size and placement – just an accent wall, the whole room, onto a door?  What kind of furniture do I have to paint around?  Since this is a custom superhero room mural, the possibilities are endless.
  4. Get Your Quote â€“ Once I fully understand what you want to create for your kids, I can put a quote together for you.

The Chalkboard Skyscraper Closet Door

Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca painted a closet door into a skyscraper with the words, "Welcome to the batcave"

I pride myself on incorporating my client’s ideas from the consultation into a great design.

Monika asked me to make a sign that she could hang over Cross’ closet door saying, “Welcome to the Batcave” and separately, she wanted a black chalk wall so he could get creative.  I suggested turning his entire door into a skyscraper building with lit up windows and adding the customized saying.

Once I painted the door, I added a clear chalkboard paint, so now Cross has a corner to let his imagination run wild!  Boom!  Pow!

A Unique, Tailor-Made Growth Chart

This skyscraper growth chart, complete with bat signal, was painted by Adrienne of AboutMurals.ca

One of the benefits of having a kids mural hand-painted is that it can be customized for your family.

I continued painting the Gotham City skyscrapers around the room and turned this building into a growth chart, so Monika and Anthony could measure Cross’ growth.  She even requested the bat signal on top of the tower – genious!

I Only Use Non-Toxic Paint

As a mama myself, I know it’s important to many parents to create an eco-friendly space for their kids.  That’s why I only use non-toxic acrylic paint and no VOC latex paint that won’t affect your kids’ air quality.  Of course, this is what I used in Cross’ Gotham City mural, too!

My Murals Become Part of Your Family

I get emails all the time from clients telling me their kids say goodnight to their mural and it’s included in their imaginative play (imagine hanging out with Batman and Spiderman every day!).  It’s one of the reasons I do what I do.

And another reason (and this is purely selfish) is that every once in a while, I bring my daughter, Audrey, with me for the final mural photoshoot.  I loved watching her imagination soar when she got into this superhero bedroom.
